Fair Havens is a fabulous structure on Sunset Way, in Passagrille. I was just at Passagrille in April, and if you have been reading other areas on this site, it is an extension of St. Pete Beach. In fact, if you drive along Gulf Way – so incredibly beautiful still, the historic community has been preserved and promoted in a delightful way without compromising their past for the present. There are a lot of people who swell here during the spring break, but it is not on the same busy road that Gulf Boulevard is.
Now Fair Havens is on Sunset Way, and if you are looking on a map, you would see that Sunset Way runs about parallel to Passagrille Way, but is right at the beach prior to turning into Gulf Way. If you see a big pink castle at Passagrille called the Don Cesar hotel, then you are coming up to Sunset Way and you are steps from the white sand.
Accommodations: There are five suites at the main building with the Beach Suite being the most up to date for looks. You are renting for the convenience and breathtaking views of the water and beach.
Cottage: there is a historic cottage on this property available for rent by the week or daily. If you appreciate Victorian homes, then you’ll admire the woodwork in the interior which appears to be the original. Furnishings are not lovely overall, but some pieces are, and at this location for this rate, who cares. The kitchen looks like it has been well renovated for this house and the place appears enchanting overall.
House: there is a house on 73rd Ave. which is not a waterfront location. They charge six month or yearly lease rates and I have not seen this home.
Rates: For a one-bedroom, one bath suite overlooking the water, the rates start at 124.00 per day during high season and remain at that daily rate throughout; however, the weekly rate changes from 742.00 per week during high season to 620.00 per week during low season. This is based on double occupancy and there is an extra 10.00 per person for each guest over 8 years old. If you stay four weeks or more you’ll get a better weekly rate for sure.
Policies: the booking and pet policies are the strictest I have seen in a while. Read them well on their site before booking.
